Suspects named following alleged crossbow incident
Three men have been charged in connection with the incident on Thursday
Three men have been charged in connection with an alleged crossbow incident in Wigan. Police were called to Norley Hall Avenue on Thursday (December 11) following reports of a group of people allegedly shouting at passing cars and brandishing a crossbow.
Officers recovered a crossbow at the scene. It was not discharged, Greater Manchester Police said previously. Several schools in the area briefly went into lockdown as a precaution, though no threats were made to any school or pupil.
Three men have now been charged in connection with the incident. Joseph Hyde, 27, of Lewis Street, St Helens, has been charged with affray; possession of an offensive weapon in a public place; and public order assault.
Jake Tickle, 29, of Vauxhall Road, Scholes, Wigan, has been charged with affray; and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. James Tomlinson, 31, of Scholes, Wigan has been charged with affray.
A woman was also arrested and taken into custody. She has since been released on bail.
