Killer instinct 405 sucks. I'm speaking from experience I bought one last year didn't even get a chance to shoot it I caught it back went to put the bolt in and the limbs blew up in my face sending fiberglass shrapnel everywhere. I returned it to Cabela's and found out they had eight other ones return to Cabela's and found out they had eight more at the same store that had the same problem.. and the lady at the return counter had enough nerve to ask me if I wanted another one.

Ok im late to the party. Hopefully someone can answer. Is the crank better or the pull yourself better to load the cross bow. Im green at this looking for education. ❤

Had the centerpoint mercenary 390 a few years ago…l picked up the sniper 390 this year and love it…390 fps with a 185 lb draw weight…lt double punched both shoulders with a clean pass-thru on my 8-pointer at a little over 55 yds…lt set me back a little under $350 and its well worth it

4 years ago I bought the CenterPoint Sniper Elite 370 Whisper package off Amazon and it’s been a good X-bow. However, I'm in the market to upgrade to an Excalibur Micro Extreme. I don't care for the new fast shooting junk bows with all the bells and whistles. Id rather something hunt worthy, durable, accurate and easy to restring. Has anyone seen the Excalibur tests on their YouTube where they drive over one with an F150 and they drop it from a helicopter, tie it to the back of a quad and drag it through a rocky river, bury it in mud… and it still shoots straight afterwards. There's no X-bow brand out there that's more reliable and dependable, especially if your serious about hunting with it.

I hear alot of problems with limbs cracking. It's starting to come out now that factory bolts supplied with the crossbow are probably the reason why (to light). NEVER use 'em. Instead, up your bolt weight to a minimum of 450 grains. Most of my bolts are closer to 500 grains. Don't shoot your new crossbow without the heavier bolts. A killer instinct hypr ke bolt with a 125 gr. Broadhead (or field point) and a lighted nock should get you in the 485-500 grain range. That bolt alone with a 100 grn point will get you 450 grains.

The Bear is a great bow. Only problem is the string broke on mine after about 50 shots. Now looking at $90 to $150 to get repaired and it's less than two weeks before the season starts.

I have the Barnett XP380 with CCD thing is an absolute beast . throw a broad-head on the supplied headhunter bolts and dial in the scope it will take down just about anything from 50yrds out pretty much right out of the box . Throw a better scope on it and maybe some dampeners to quiet it down and even get some vinyl camo stickers to pretty it up and you're still under $500
